I came across this when I was purchasing some flowers today and its a good idea to help stop people stuffing up the return to merchant when they complete the paypal payment. It certainly catches your eye because nothing else is moving on the page.

Its a gif so you just have to watch it for a second to see it change. Chuck could we implement a generic image like this as standard in the wifi gator setup. It stays on top of the page right thru until you click on the return to merchant button. Of course it would be nice if we could all put our own image there but just a generic one for starters would do.

I think you can load that into the page anywhere you would like and the animated gif should still work...

Try it.. put is as the header and put it as the footer and also try putting it into the main page content and see what happens..

pretty simple and cool approach..

Thanks Chuck
I found this and it looks simple as so I'll just make a gif to suit.

Hi Webtron,
here is a link on how to customize your paypal checkout page. This seems to cover what you are looking for. I haven't tried it yet but I think it is something we can each do individually:

I think the tip about https is very useful. I hope this helps

EDIT Hi Webtron it seems you beat me to it

Don't forget to put the address of the secure server where you host the banner into your "UAM Allowed" list, or the PayPal page will hang while it waits for the image.

Thanks for finding that 'webtron'; I lifted the animation and incorporated it into my existing banner. I used to have a static warning, but the animated version will result in far fewer failures, I'm sure.

just some info you guys probably already know, if you have a paypal business account instead of "return to merchant" it displays return to whatever your business name is... what I did was enter "Wifi Hotspot to Log in" as my business name so now the button says "Return to Wifi Hotspot to Log in"
