I am trying to set the system time on my VPS server and it won't allow me to. I think it is an issue with the system time UTC but I am not sure. I would like to run NTP. Does anyone else have this issue? I have tried looking for it in the forums but no luck.

I am also not able to set it from the command line.

root@wde1096:~# date --set 14:45:0
date: cannot set date: Operation not permitted
Thu May 28 14:45:00 UTC 2009

Thanks,
Josh

Yeah.. You can't change the system time on the VPS's.. That is the one and only thing you cannot change..

The wifigator server is designed to rum on GMT, and each hotspot has a timezone setting inside the heartbeat monitor page..

I hope that helps..

Just noticed something as well. The time zone selection works great in the heartbeat monitor but it does not set the timezone in "Monitor Users Online" the radAcctStart and Stop times are still in GMT. Not a big deal at all but just something to keep in mind.

vdasta, have a look here, this should solve your time problem and have everything on your local time, including raddact, online users, etc.
