I would use dot and @ in the SSID, there is any way to do that?
ex.: free.wimo.it@pub99 - free.wimo.it@moonhotel etc.

What type of router and firmware are you running?

What dashboard are you running?

I know you are just getting setup, but tell me a little bit about your plan.. I also want to get you in touch with Carlomm in this forum.. He is a really great guy and he has already done alot of what you described to me in your email..

Tell me more about what your overall plan is though and I will throw my two cents in there..

OM1 EU and openmesh dashboard

The network will be used expecially by mobile phone users, the users will have free access, all nodes and repeaters will be in one accounts.
The authentication will be made via SMS.

When registering the user insert his mobile number, his e-mail and his name, accept the term and the privacy statement, and finally he receives the password via SMS, the mobilephone number will be his username.

After succesfully logged in he will be redirect to a splash page with a banner and a google search field.

that's all

I'm using special character for the SSID in the open-mesh dashboard, and I have seen that the mxserver convert any special char to "_" storing them in the database with no problem.
That's OK go ahead
:D

Right.. The reason is because all of that data eventually has to pass over to paypal and come back again, and when it does, many times the special characters are misinterpreted to mean other functions, or they just break the string all together and the full data string does not make it back from paypal..

That is why we stopped using any kind of special characters in all parts of this system.. the data passes through so many applications by the time the account is created that it stands a high probability of getting chopped off in the process...
